ABOUT US
We're hikers, and we're scientists.
Life on earth has taken eons to develop, but extinctions are most often final.
We intend to conserve this planet's vast undervalued wealth of ecological biodiversity.
Our work includes conservation research, education, and community engagement.

OUR MISSION

Catalogue Genetic Biodiversity.

Optimize Conservation Strategies.

Halt Mass Extinction on Planet Earth.

THE CHALLENGE

Earth is losing species to extinction at an alarming rate.

The dramatic biodiversity decline observed across the planet has only five historical precedents.

We are witnessing  the commencement of Earth's sixth mass extinction event.

We are losing threatened species faster than we can identify them.

Conventional biodiversity monitoring activities are expensive, imprecise, and time-consuming.

Such challenges have hampered the efforts of  ecologists to achieve conservation goals up to present day.

Researchers require significantly enhanced data to save Earth's species from extinction.

THE TECHNOLOGY

Genetic sequencing tools now produce higher quality data at a lower cost than traditional ecosystem surveys.

Organisms shed genetic material off into their habitats in astounding frequency.

Habitats all over Earth are replete with this genetic litter, which has become more formally referred to as eDNA.
eDNA accumulates in environmental substrates and can be sampled with minimal impact to local species.
Genetic analyses have revolutionized conservation by revealing the character of local biodiversity in superior resolution.

THE PATH FORWARD

Join in the campaign to secure the future of life on Earth by participating in eDNA sample collection.
Initiatives to catalogue ecosystem diversity are increasing in prevalence as the technology  grows more elegant.

Simple DNA sampling represents an opportunity for people everywhere to participate in wildlife conservation.
All places on Earth are eligible for study, so there is ample room for novel research utilizing eDNA data.
Preserving species from mass extinction is an audacious goal that will demand enormous teamwork.

If you live on Planet Earth, you're invited! You have a place in the movement to save our shared home.
